Monthly Bird Monitoring Walk

July 21, 2018 @ 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Maquam / Black Creek Trails
Swanton, VT 05488

Join Friends Board Members Ken Copenhaver and Julie Filiberti for a birding walk on the Maquam/Black Creek Trail on Saturday January 20th from 8 AM until 10 AM.

The purpose of these monthly walks is to gather long-term data on the presence of birds, their abundance, and changes in populations.  Observations will be entered into the Vermont eBird database where data is stored by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society.  These walks are appropriate for birders of all skill levels and provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about birds throughout the seasons.  The walks are available for all skill levels. Binoculars and a bird field guide are helpful.

Meet at the parking lot on Rte 78, about 2-1/2 miles west of Swanton Village.

After 92 months of walks we have observed 150 species.  Hope to see you there!
