2017 ART EXHIBIT

The Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge will celebrate the 24th anniversary of International Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 20, 2017.  The 2017 IMBD theme is “Helping Birds Along the Way.”  The theme highlights the importance of stopover sites such as parks, refuges, and other locations where birds pause to feed and rest en route to breeding and wintering areas.  The Friends of Missisquoi will be hosting the annual art show, which kicks off during the Open House.

Medium:   any two dimensional medium– oil, acrylics, watercolor, pen and ink, pastels, photographs or fabric-related and able to hang.

Subjects:

  • Paintings/drawings/etc.: Subjects may be birds* or anything related to what might be found in a landscape that helps birds in their migration, breeding, etc. such as at the Refuge– lake, river, marsh, forest, wildlife, insects, wildflowers/plants, fields, etc., and interpretations of any of these.
  • Photographs: preference for photos taken on Refuge, but may be from other sites that are local breeding, wintering, or stopover areas for birds* found in the Refuge.

Artwork can also be viewed and purchased during normal refuge office hours through July 21st, 2017, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
